The Boston Cognitive Assessment (BoCA™) was originally developed by neuroscientist Dr. Andrey Vyshedskiy, PhD, as part of his academic research into brain function and cognitive health. What began as a tool to support peer-reviewed studies has since gained global adoption — with hundreds of thousands of assessments completed worldwide.
While BoCA™ is now commercially available as part of Boston Cognitive’s broader Boston Cognitive digital platform, it remains free for academic use, continuing its mission of advancing open, science-based research in cognition.
A free self-administered cognitive screening tool for patients that can be taken remotely or in-clinic.
A state-of-the-art digital tool for accurate cognitive screening and measurement.
Personalized, data-driven care plans to support cognitive health management.
Our commitment to cognitive health began with AlzLife, our pioneering brain training platform. By combining 40Hz light and sound stimulation with targeted cognitive exercises, AlzLife aimed to support brain function by restoring the brain’s natural 40Hz gamma rhythm — setting the foundation for all future developments.
This experience inspired neuroscientist Andrey Vyshedskiy, PhD, to develop BoCA™. Originally built for research, BoCA™ quickly gained global adoption, helping assess cognitive function in hundreds of thousands of individuals.
We then introduced BellCurveAndMe, an early direct-to-consumer initiative designed to help individuals self-monitor cognitive health over time. This launch gave us broad insights across diverse populations and helped refine our clinical and digital strategies.
Today, Boston Cognitive brings these innovations together under one roof. We offer a comprehensive set of tools to screen, measure, and manage cognitive health—serving clinicians, researchers, and individuals alike. Our solutions form a continuum of care: from preventive wellness and self-directed trials to advanced clinical workflows, all grounded in science and built for impact.
